Ed Hardy
Hardy Named CEO of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Baytown
Edward Hardy has been named Chief Executive Officer of ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Baytown. The new 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital is scheduled to open in Spring 2024 and will treat patients with disabling injuries or illnesses caused by strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other medically-complex conditions such as COVID-19. The hospital will provide intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy services overseen by a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician.

Hardy brings nearly 40 years of healthcare experience to his position. Having started his career as a speech-language pathologist, he recently served as executive director of an acute rehabilitation unit located inside a long-term acute care hospital in Houston. He has managed comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation operations at various hospitals and facilities throughout Texas, ensuring the organizations met or exceeded fiscal, regulatory, quality, patient satisfaction, hospital, and accrediting agency goals. Hardy also has served as an operations consultant, admissions coordinator, and adjunct instructor in adult aphasia/neurogenic disorders and motor speech disorders.

“Throughout my career, I’ve seen how exceptional rehabilitative care can change the course of patients’ lives,” Hardy says. “It’s rewarding to bring a higher level of rehabilitation to Baytown so we can help patients regain their independence and return to their homes and the activities they enjoy. I’m looking forward to leading the hospital’s team to positively impact the community.”

Born and raised in Baytown, Hardy graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in speech pathology from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He is involved with numerous professional and volunteer organizations.
